Okay, from what i gathered from youtube videos.They intentionally penetrate US bases worldwide to test their security.They act as terroist.

Red Teams or Red Cells are U.S. government parlance for teams or units designed to test the effectiveness of U.S. tactics or personnel. "Red Cell" was purported to be a U.S. Navy SEAL team which had been organized to attempt to infiltrate and otherwise test the security of U.S. military bases and other installations sensitive to U.S. security interests. The original Red Cell group was led by the former leader of SEAL Team Six Richard Marcinko, a.k.a. the "Rogue Warrior".

Its true. I read the book b4. Very funny, calling themselves the "Party for free ejaculation of Palestinians."

They raised all sorts of hell in various bases. Painted submarines, set of flares and smoke grenades in warehouses and administration buildings of insecured bases.

Sounds like fun to me! Able to do all this nonsense and have the official authorisation to do so!

On a more serious note, maybe Singapore should have a similar unit to test the effectiveness of our military camp defences. But of course, there are problems. Should this unit succeed in penetrating the defences, many heads are going to roll. The potential for this unit's personnel to be shot at and wounded or even killed is a big problem. Very Happy

Got wad. I remember every once in a while, the FDS would have to face our commandos in this kinda exercises. All wearing the "MILES" gear some more. I remember some of my friends telling me, they got in, and forced the personnel to surrender their mars bars and snickers as well.

But that is for training and thus the MILES gear, if i didn't understand wrongly from the article they infiltrate without notifying the people there beforehand. Now that is a cause for concern. Very Happy

It's a compromise either way lah. If you inform people, security will definetly be beefed up to an unrealistic standard.

If you don't well, it's darn realistic but you are also in the deep end if you're discovered.

Honestly, if I had a team of commandos/NDU/SOF/SWG, I am pretty darn sure I can penetrate almost any base in SG with relative impunity.

What does the average base MP have? empty magazine and a few others with 3-5 rounds? shoot to warn, shoot to injure then finally shoot to kill... i don't even want to go into the readiness state of the ground defence ppl at Changi-East AB...

Some SAF joker nearly got shot some years ago when they tried to penetrate the communications towers at Bukit Timah hill only to be stopped in their tracks at gunpoint by the Gurkha guards….....

Well...wtf are the Gurkha guards doing there? If its SAF property...why are they allowed there?

I trust the Ghurka guards’ trigger discipline better than I’d trust any other SAF personnel. These ppl carry live rounds all the time, and so far, their track record is good.

during my service there was a period of 2 wks all FDS personnel was told to stay in and secure the whole base and prepare for invasion by 'enemy'.. jeep plt were sent up and after 2 wks during debrief, we were inform tat other base suay suay kena invade and their BOC whr the base comm is located have a very big piece of sticker pasted on his office door with a seleton. Mean that BOC was sucessfully sabotaged.. till day it is still unknwn if commando were used or gurkas.. manage to sneak BOC which is often located deep inside and paste the sticker.

not to mention their prowling times quite predicitable and also such a big camp and so little guards.
It's like once u over come the initial guards (the guys at the gate) you've literally own the camp since all arms are locked up at night and some camps dun even have live ammo dumps only live ammo are those in the guard room or stored somewhere so ulu and hard to reach u'd be dead by the time u get there.
